The Ghost of Ian Crowley

THE GHOST OF IAN CROWLEY is a multimedia comedy show starring Ian Crowley. The show features his live standup/sketch comedy as well as his short films. Ian Crowley is a comedian, writer, editor and filmmaker based in Seattle, Washington. He has been performing comedy, producing shows, and making films in the PNW for the past 3 years. Camp and surrealism are at the core of his live act, performing with an absurdity that reflects his early life growing up in uncanny suburbs outside of Detroit, Michigan. He is the co-founder of Kitchen Sink Comedy, a weekly open mic and monthly showcase in Seattle. Ian has worked with veteran comics as a writer, director, and editor on several video and live projects. He co-hosts two weekly podcasts, and creates short films for his youtube channel. His style of cinematography is inspired by documentary filmmaking and skate videos, and he has an editing and sfx sensibility stemming in equal parts from early 2000s internet content as well as early 1900s trick films. Ian started doing standup comedy in Seattle as a way to meet writers to make films with. Early on into his standup career, he met comedians/writers in order to collaborate on sketches/short films.

Fellow comedians joining Ian at The Rabbit Box include Gavyn Rings, Jone Dehuff, Spencer Earl and hosted by Molina Molina !

The Rabbit Box presents Sam Lewis, Claire Conway & Brenna Bruce on July 30th

Sam Lewis has collaborated with everyone from Leon Russell to The Wood Brothers. Chris Stapleton dubbed him “a modern Townes Van Zandt”.  He’s often labeled with some form of the word ‘soulful’ (some have even compared his voice to molasses), Lewis’ style meets at a juncture of many different genres however he’s discovered what most musicians spend lifetimes working for; the place where feel-good music meets vital social commentary.

After spending a nomadic youth throughout the Southeast (USA), he began calling Nashville home in 2009. Since then he’s been joined on his journey by some of music’s most righteous and luminary figures. He has pressed the first few chapters in his career’s studio anthology with the release of his self-titled debut (2012). His sophomore release WAITING ON YOU (2015) features an impressive list of Nashville notables all placing their stamp on this enduring expression of un-compromised songwriting.

Billboard announced the highly anticipated third studio release third studio release LOVERSITY (2018) and landed Lewis a spot on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Artists to Watch” list, with writer Marissa Moss describing the album as, “… seventies psychedelic soul, with a storyteller’s eye, a swampy Southern groove and an emotional, political punch.” SOLO (released 2020) is a solo-acoustic album recorded at Southern Ground Studios in Nashville in front of a live audience that captures Lewis in his element. HARLEY KIMBRO LEWIS (2022) is a trans-Atlantic collaboration with England’s own Martin Harley and East Tennessee all-star Daniel Kimbro that features a collection of all original material recorded in Nashville. The long-awaited new studio album SUPERPOSITION (2024) irresistibly fuses Americana undertones to hazy dream-like melodies with psychedelic instrumental flourishes. Comprising eight atmospherically captivating originals alongside a compellingly unique take on Dire Straits’ ‘Walk of Life’ This impressive body of work has received critical acclaim and each session has grown with the legendary family for which he has adopted to curate and share his musical inner-vision with his listeners. While each album has a distinct sound, they all circle back to one universal theme and certainly something you will hear Lewis preach to his audience, “we are all trying to get somewhere — all running from something or toward something; we’re all in it together, though.” Website   Video   Music

Raised on country radio in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, Claire Conway was drawn to storytelling from an early age. She wrote her first song at ten years old, and soon became eager to grow as an artist in any way she could: painting, writing poems, playing guitar. She would go on to study in an intensive creative writing program at a local high school for the arts, simultaneously crafting her first EP, "Ocean’s Edge", a glimpse into her teenage years in and out of love. Lyrically, Claire Conway is wise, graceful, and honest. Her songs are dreamy, vivid portraits of her life backed by simple riffs, soft harmonies and moody slide guitar. Claire’s evolution as a songwriter was evident in her 2019 EP, "Missing," a cathartic reflection on the birth and death of a relationship and a first taste of life away from home. Claire's latest EP, "Be Good", is both a product of the pandemic and a deeply personal project years in the making. Recorded in a Los Angeles apartment while quarantined, it echoes all-too-familiar themes of isolation and self-discovery, divulging the details with unmatched intimacy. "Amsterdam" is a nod to the narrative at the heart of her last EP, while singles "Be Good" and "I Don't Wanna Be Alone" read more like diary entries, chronicling a story of a young woman discovering herself, the way she relates to others, and her place in the middle of it all. Now living in Seattle, Claire is currently recording her first full-length album, expected in late 2025. Website Video Music

Brenna Bruce is a singer-songwriter based in Seattle. Following a path of curiosity and introspection, her music moves with a quiet power, balancing sharpness and tenderness with an understood patience. Bruce pulls from the tradition of vulnerable folk through delicate and crystalline vocal prowess akin to Courtney Marie Andrews and Emmylou Harris, with the simplicity and focus of Gillian Welch’s storytelling. On her forthcoming debut EP Honest Bloom, Bruce weaves ambling stories of the heart with peripheral landscapes passing through the deserts, rivers, and mountains of her past in the southwest, and present in the Pacific Northwest. Honest Bloom inhabits spaces of liminality and cyclical growth, spinning themes of connection, belonging, and becoming, with lilting pedal steel and string arrangements, tethered by pulsing percussion and the intentional delivery of Brenna’s vocal harmonies carrying each sentiment to fruition. Honest Bloom is a capsule of time, reckoning with the ever-unfolding path of being and learning life’s lessons, and Brenna Bruce is an artist burgeoning with timeless truths. Website Video Music

Sunday August 3rd from 5pm to 8pm

Lester Bangs once wrote, "The Mekons are the most revolutionary group in the history of rock 'n' roll," and although he wrote it tongue in cheek, that doesn't mean he was wrong. Thoroughly uncompromising, creatively restless, at once witty and profoundly cynical, and seemingly incapable of repeating themselves, the Mekons are one of the few bands from the first wave of British punk who not only never turned their back on their guiding ideals, but clung to them with greater tenacity over time. (This helps explain why their audience, while relatively small, is unfailingly loyal.) The Mekons were (and remain) as strongly political as any band short of Crass, but their Marxism came from the perspective of the guy at the bar, not unintelligent but rarely academic. Since 1977, the Mekons have followed a musical path that has taken them through punk ("Never Been in a Riot"), noisy experimentalism (The Quality of Mercy Is Not Strnen), synthesizer-based avant-pop (Devils, Rats, and Piggies: A Special Message from Godzilla), fractured country (Fear and Whiskey), rock & roll (The Mekons Rock 'n' Roll), electronics (Me), and several brands of folk (Natural, Ancient and Modern, and Jura), and for all their sonic shapeshifting, they've always managed to sound like the Mekons, brave contrarians who've gone too far to stop, at every turn.

Tony Furtado and Stephanie Schneiderman, both veteran musicians - each with their own solo career and over 30 albums between them, are combining forces for an exciting evening fueled by music from each of their newest releases — Stephanie’s stunning and lush Crossfire and Tony's introspective, banjo centered Decembering.

Genre-spanning multi-instrumentalist Tony Furtado combines elements of folk, blues, and bluegrass into a potent Americana musical blend that explores our shared musical frontiers and traditions with fearless creativity. David Lindley calls Tony Furtado "a musical force without a doubt, " and the two-time national banjo champion and peerless slide guitar master has recorded nearly 20 critically acclaimed albums for such labels as Rounder Records, Dualtone, and Yousay Furtado Records. https://tonyfurtado.com/

Whether pursuing her prolific work as an award winning solo artist, playing drums for all-star indie rock act Swan Sovereign (formerly Dirty Martini), producing a humanitarian concert series for refugees in Uganda (raising over $70k) or acting, Stephanie Schneiderman is hands down one of the most diverse female singer-songwriters the Pacific Northwest has to offer. On Crossfire, her latest release, Stephanie combines her past sonic explorations—folk, Americana, trip-hop, and pop—into a beautifully dark and deeply introspective recording that is as lush as it is intimate. Crossfire is a self-released labor of lovethat celebrates her maiden voyage as a self-producer and is possibly her most compelling collection of songs to date. https://stephanieschneiderman.com/

Considered one of the most talented Irish musicians in America today, flautist, whistle player, singer, and Juno Award-winner Hanz Araki has been lauded by publications and audiences alike.  Three decades of musical exploration into Irish, Scottish, Japanese, and American traditions has yielded his distinct style described by Fatea Magazine as “achingly beautiful.” As the sixth generation of his family to bear the title Araki Kodo, Hanz (short for Hanzaburo, his great-great grandfather’s name) spent his formative years mastering the Japanese end-blown bamboo flute.  Discovering and relishing the melodic and mechanical similarities between shakuhachi and Irish whistle, Hanz applied his natural capacity and boundless curiosity to his Irish heritage.  Taking advantage of the rich Irish music scene in Seattle, where he spent his youth, Hanz quickly became known for his exquisite instrumental work on both Irish whistle and flute and a haunting singing voice that was born to tell tales. https://www.hanzaraki.com/

Sam Vogt is a NW artist performing musician, “Tunes on low whistle, guitar, and more inspired by Irish and Scottish musical traditions” https://samvogt.bandcamp.com/album/whistle-tunes

After Patti's performance (with the Portland Cello Project) of Radiohead's "Climbing Up the Walls" gave Brent goosebumps, he reached out, and they instantly bonded over their love of authentic vocalists, the rich dynamism of vintage recordings, and the soundtrack to The Neverending Story. From the pair's magical blend of chaos and order, Port Velvet’s songs emerge with rich melodies, dance grooves, dynamic arrangements, and dark subjects.

Elliot Jackson is a multi instrumentalist artist based out of Seattle, WA. Known as the synthesizer/guitar player for the band Deep Sea Diver , Elliot brings the same atmospheres, textures, shapes and hooks leaning more into a world of discoed new age ambient soundscapes.

Montana-born, singer-songwriter, Chloe Gendrow, has carved out a unique space where raw emotion meets unfiltered storytelling, blending indie, alt-pop, and folk influences, while tying back to her Montana roots. Time spent living in Alaska has further fueled her exploration into new sonic and thematic territories, having been influenced by the heavy bluegrass and Americana scene up north. She continues to blur the lines between genre and emotion, crafting songs like “Smoke Break” and her March 28th release “Crying in Public”, that feel both deeply personal and universally felt. With over 17 million streams across platforms, Chloe’s music, at its root, is cathartic. It’s the emotional hangover, post-four-hour breakup conversation. The late night drives headed nowhere. The exhale when you finally get to where you’re going.

Her songs have taken her from the stages of Pilgrimage Festival in Nashville, to opening for Noah Cyrus in Missoula, MT and playing a sold out show in Bozeman, MT at Live from the Divide in March 2025. Chloe can’t wait to be out on the road full time showcasing her music and meeting new fans. Spotify | Instagram | YouTube

St. Yuma - Seattle, WA\n\nEstablished in 2015 “St. Yuma” serves as the creative outlet for singer/songwriter Stevan Alva. Whether performing solo or with a band, the objective has always been to evoke emotional depth through music and sonic exploration, drawing inspiration from artists like Damien Jurado, Califone, Silver Jews, and Wilco. St. Yuma’s latest offering "Country Sleight of Hand" was crafted during and after singer-songwriter Alva's departure from Texas following the passing of his father, ultimately settling in Seattle, WA. The backdrop of Alva's new beginnings in Seattle provided an inspiring setting to confront and compose the new record. Thematically, the album delves into the complexities of death, love, and life's uncertainties. Recorded at The Unknown in Anacortes, WA, the album boasts a diverse sonic palette, beautifully captured and mixed by Marshall Pruitt of Austin, TX.

The Marrying Type is an eclectic folk, rock, dream pop project, hailing from Tacoma, Seattle and Bremerton. Showcasing the songwriting of singer/guitarist Nathan Smurthwaite(Fungal Abyss,Black Smoker) and offering the listener an opportunity to get lush and loud aswell as quietly lost in thought, cathartically pondering the abyss of emotions that life often is. The Marrying Type is complete with a collection of excellent local players, Benjamin Thomas Kennedy(BlouseUSA,SomeSurprises,Shitty Person)on drums, Ryan Weaver(KarolKarol,StradhoughtonEcho)on bass and his own offspring Dino Smurthwaite(Colour)on guitar.

Tiny Vipers is Jesy Fortino, a musician living in Seattle. Creating and performing the music for her new album with a singular approach, Life on Earth is a private vision unfolding, at times crystal-clear and at other times shrouded in a mystical fog. People and times past wander through these songs like ghosts looking for a home. And questions arise for anyone listening: Where did they go? Where have they been?

Now the kids have flown the coop and it’s harder to make it happen but this summer we are doing it!!” - Johnny Sangster

New Orthodox, Peaceable Kingdom with UAP, and special guest

New Orthodox is "New american" music, not in sound but in participation. Led by New York state-based multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Merz, he invites collaborators within and beyond state lines such as Freak Heat Waves, Thor Harris, and Spencer Krug, to bring the work to life. Through a patchwork of disparate musical styles that borders on performance art, the project is focused on highlighting the human element of error, and creating as little distraction as possible around it. The band's ethos leans heavily into minimalist repetition, sonic experimentation, and lyrical insights that give way to live performances and recordings that utilize space and silence to imitate the human experience. The music is both intimate and grand, charged and claustrophobic, taking the tools of country and spinning them out of context.

Dave Hause’s songs have always been rooted in tangible reality—of emotion, of environment, of circumstance. Since releasing his debut album, Resolutions, in 2011, the Philadelphia-born songwriter has poured his whole heart, soul and life into his music. That’s no different on Drive It Like It’s Stolen, his sixth full-length. Its 10 songs overflow with Hause’s trademark urgency and passion, shimmering with a truth that reflects the harsh realities of life in this day and age, as well the intermittent jolts of joy that punctuate it. After all, his songs have always detailed his own personal traumas and triumphs within the setting of an unforgiving capitalist backdrop, tethering those personal experiences to ineluctable external forces. 2013’s second album, Devour, for example, was a response to his divorce from his first wife, while 2019’s Kick saw him tackle hope, depression, global warming and a crumbling American democracy with the news that he was to become a father. Most recently, on 2021’s Blood Harmony, Hause wrote and sang about the positive impact of having twins, and of the joy and excitement of being able to be at home with them for the first couple of years of the pandemic.

Drive It Like It’s Stolen is just as earnest and heartfelt, raw and real as anything he’s ever written before. Yet there’s also a subtle yet significant difference—here he’s delving into a more fictional type of storytelling to create what he terms "post-apocalyptic Americana”. That’s clear from the title of this album’s haunting and ominous opening song, “Cheap Seats (New Year’s Day, NYC, 2042)”. Set two decades in the future, it’s obviously not about anything that’s actually happened, but is still very much inspired by life. At the start of 2022, Hause was in a good place. He’d changed his diet and had maintained a strenuous workout regimen resulting in improved physical and mental health. Feeling great, he’d decided to go off Lexapro and left to go out on the Blood Harmony band touring.

“I was feeling great,” he recalls. “I came back to work, didn’t have my meds. But then I’m on tour, I’m not working out, I’m not eating that way anymore. And I’m really faced with the American city, the American experiment post-pandemic. We’re going places and being like, ‘Oh, my God, this is what Portland and San Francisco and Los Angeles look like.’ And it looked terrifying. Whenever I went anywhere, I felt like I was watching the prequel to 12 Monkeys, except I was also living it and just wondering what the fuck was going on. The tour was doing well, but it just felt like my mental health was falling down stairs. A few months later, when we were finishing the tour, we heard stories that people were siphoning gas out of tour buses. So, a lot of the record was kind of born of and trying to wrestle with that.”

Kray Van Kirk, Larry Murante & Allison Preisinger

An evening of folk Americana on 6 & 12-string guitar concerning heroes and hope, so that absolutely everyone, of every identity and history, can know that they are not alone but have a verse in the shouted poetry of dawn.

September 14th / Doors 7pm - Music begins at 8pm

$18 adv. / $20 door: https://tickets.venuepilot.com/e/kray-van-kirk-larry-murante-and-allison-preisinger-2025-09-14-the-rabbit-box-theatre-seattle-ef9f54

A fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska, but he set science aside to write songs, tell stories and summon heroes."We are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart," he says, "and the stories are all true. There is a dark cave inside each of us, and monsters of all kinds lurk there, all the more lethal for being hidden. The quest is to journey inside, render the monsters powerless, find whatever it is that burns at the core of your soul and bring it back into the light. In a world divided it is critical to write songs and tell stories that show absolutely everyone they get to be the hero. Nobody is left behind."

When he reached Scotland and the Fringe Festival, the Daily Fringe Review wrote ìThe evening's act was Kray Van Kirk, whose 12-string guitar and soaring vocals were spellbinding; the Alaskan singer-songwriter, in his Edinburgh debut, was not the reason I arrived early, but was certainly why I stayed late."

Of this charming, Quixotic and eclectic performer, the Borderline Folk Club in New York wrote that Van Kirk was "what every singer-songwriter should aspire to."

Singer-songwriter Larry Murante has a well-earned reputation as one of the Northwests finest contemporary singer/songwriters with the accolades and dozens of regional, national, and international awards to back it up.

Murante is well known for his soaring, mellifluous tenor, strong rhythmic guitar style, and engaging stage presence. He performs both originals and cover tunes. His award-winning original songs feature beautifully woven stories about everyday folks. They combine compassionate, socially conscious lyrics with an upbeat, joyful folk-rock style.

Allison Preisinger is a Tacoma-based performing songwriter and Berklee College of Music graduate known for her evocative, Americana-infused sound against the background of many influences including Iron & Wine, Tom Petty, and Gillian Welch. Her most recent release, Standing Steady, is a heartfelt exploration of stillness and simplicity, intertwining her music with poems from various poets to create a deeply personal and therapeutic work. She is also known for her unique collaborations, including her recent work on an album produced by The National Park Service, where she contributed to a song honoring Olympic National Park. A multi-instrumentalist with a passion for storytelling, Allison aspires to use her art to uplift, connect, and share the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

Thom Jurek at All Music said it best, "Only Gram Parsons' term "Cosmic American Music" begins to touch her mercurial, changeling roots aesthetic, ... McNally is a Zen-like, post-Beat song poet”. For those who have followed McNally’s nearly twenty year career the thing that most sticks with the listener about her, is the timeless effortlessness that she brings to all she does. With a long catalog and longer list of peers with whom she has written, recorded and toured, McNally continues to turn out great music that defies blatant genre-fication.

At home across the American (Americana) music spectrum, the Grammy nominee who’s live music career began on the jam band circuit of the 1990’s with bands like Robert Randolph and Derek Trucks, writes as well as she interprets the songs of others, has a top tier musicality to her craft, a soul stirring voice that immediately grabs one by the heart strings and a troubadour’s wanderlust, not to mention as it turns out, she is also an excellent electric guitar player.

Like her anti-hero heros J.J. Cale, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan. Dr. John, and Jim Dickinson, McNally knows who she serves. She serves the song. Her quiet but steady plodding through the many layers of the business of music, hasn’t ever been rewarded with massive fame and fortune but in time that slow burn has become the treasure in and of itself.

Singer/Songwriter Max Gomez grew up in Taos, New Mexico, where he fell under the influence of country blues early on and developed a songwriting style that was uniquely his. As a budding performer, Max apprenticed in the rarefied musical micro-climate of northern New Mexico, where troubadours like Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard helped foster a Western folk sound both cosmic and country.

He received critical acclaim upon the release of his debut album Rule The World (2013, New West Records); and his subsequent EP, Me and Joe (2017, Brigadoon Records), contained a freshly minted classic, “Make It Me.”

He has shared billing on hundreds of stages with stalwarts of the genre like James McMurtry, Buddy Miller, John Hiatt, Patty Griffin, Tommy James & The Shondells, Jeff Beck, and Johnny Depp. Judging by the company he keeps, Gomez is poised to emerge as a prominent voice of Americana’s next generation.  The forthcoming album, Memory Mountain, is set to be released in August 2025.

The Triple Door presents Abigail Lapell at The Rabbit Box

“A disc of pure, impalpable beauty, weightless notes and melodies that pierce our hearts…. And the young woman, prey to a vagueness in the soul that she sublimates in a handful of magical songs, to offer us a twilight album, somewhere between Gillian Welch and Laura Veirs.” – Rolling Stone

Toronto songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Abigail Lapell returns with Anniversary, an evocative collection of original love songs. Produced with Great Lake Swimmers’ Tony Dekker, the album was recorded at 200-year-old St Mark’s Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Dekker helped shape the sessions’ spooky, resonant sound and also lent his voice to a couple of spellbinding duets.

His acoustic solo arrangements are very personal, derived from the different musical experiences Alberto has in rock, jazz, country and pop as a session player. Yet they're rooted in the style of the great Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel. He digs into complex arrangements of Italian and american classics, translating them on the guitar (Georgia on my mind, Volare, 'O Sole Mio), picking up clever harmonic movements from those great arrangers and composers and making them his own, on the six string.

As a sideman Alberto has rocked stages as big as Italian Stadiums like Olimpico and San Siro, or Pavillao Atlantico in Lisboa. In his 25 years career he's worked with major Italian acts as a session player and record producer/arranger/mixer. He runs his recording studio called "Belairstudio" in Rome, Italy. https://www.albertolombardi.com/

Nile Rodgers, Madonna, Duran Duran, Bowie producer and mastermind of the band Chic: “the record is killing, such great musicianship!”

Tommy Emmanuel, one of the most influential guitar players of all times, with whom Alberto was lucky to play a few times, said about his first acoustic record: “It sounds beautiful and your playing and arrangements are very powerful! Big admiration to you!”

Brothers Brian and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn grew up playing music together around their hometown of Carlow, a small town in the southeast of Ireland. After moving to Dublin in 2012, they quickly became a staple of the live music and session scene in Ireland, playing their own original songs as well as folk songs from Ireland, Scotland, England and America. In 2014 they came to the attention of Arbutus Yarns’ music filmmaker Myles O’Reilly, whose videos gained international attention for the brothers for the first time.  After a chance meeting at Electric Picnic in September 2015, the brothers performed onstage with Glen Hansard, who invited them to open for him on his European tour the following October. The band just wrapped up numerous dates supporting Hozier across Europe. Ye Vagabonds plan to beging touiring vigorously across North American beginning in 2025. After initially finding runaway virality with her self-produced bedroom demo of the track last fall, Mollie teamed up with producer Dean Reid (Lana Del Rey, Marina, Alessia Cara, et. al) to bring the fully realized studio version into the world on vaunted indie label Neon Gold Records (Charli XCX, Marina, Tove Lo, etc). An escapist fantasy dripping in glitter and gold, Mollie built a world worth losing yourself in, a timeless debut fluttering to earth somewhere between Lana Del Rey and Laufey.

She introduces herself: Hi there, my name is Mollie (aka doeyedfairie), and I am a singer and songwriter from the woods of Washington State’s Cascades. To me, every melody is a tiny world that invites you in—an invitation to be both fierce and delicate, and to celebrate who you are, who you have been, and who you are becoming. My music isn’t just for listening—it’s for wandering, for imagining, and for finding a piece of yourself in a place you’d forgotten. Through his original songs and idiosyncratic reimaginings of the American folk vernacular, Odin Scott Coleman feels like the sort of musician your great-grandparents might have whooped and hollered for. Equipped with a banjo, a guitar, and a penchant for storytelling, Coleman spins a compelling yarn as he weaves together elements of country-blues, hard-traveling folk songs, ragtime, and mountain music. Though born and raised in the Great Pacific Northwest, in recent years Coleman has established a strong presence in LA’s thriving underground folk community. He has conducted masterclasses with Alan Parsons OBE and took 1st place at both the 2024 and the 2025 Topanga Banjo/Fiddle Festival.

Birdie Fenn Cent is a songwriter based out of Seattle, WA. She’s writes on a wide range of topics ranging from heartache to heartbreak and everything in between. Her sound is influenced by country, folk and americana and her own interpretation of it all mashed together.

Vince Bigos is a singer-songwriter and frequent busker at Pike Place Market. He plays throughout the Seattle area with his band - Invisible Cowboys.

Western Arrow maps out territory where indie rock meets dusty Americana. The duo of Korum Bischoff and Drew Holloway craft songs that feel like driving alone on forgotten highways—expansive, melancholic, and tinged with the kind of beauty that only emerges in solitude. Bischoff anchors the sound with drums and synthesizers while Holloway’s vocals drift over guitars tuned to open possibilities, each song a landscape painted with tremolo, reverb and pedal steel. Both musicians are core members of Grammy-nominated family band Recess Monkey, but when the pandemic forced the world indoors, their creative conversations turned toward more adult themes. What started as casual file-sharing between longtime collaborators evolved into something deeper— recording sessions that captured the restlessness and reflection of those uncertain times. The result was two distinct musical personalities: the experimental art-rock of the Phantom Years and the desert-swept sound of Western Arrow. Where the former explores sonic territories, the latter charts the search for meaning in wide-open spaces. When Western Arrow takes the stage, the core duo expands with Johnny Bregar of Big Spoon and Skúli Gestsson of Ditka.

Captivating, sultry sounds embracing the last century of American popular music. Honey Moon embodies classic americana with its multitudes of influence. Big band, bop, hardcore twang, french cafe, film noir, sonic sounds from the space age… Metropolitan music for the highly refined.

Tobias Bregar “ Music is always in my head, from the moment I wake up until the moment I fall asleep (and probably in-between).. Ever since I was a little kid, I have been writing songs - or fragments of them - and now that I have found my voice, write songs that I am proud of, and play guitar, I’m enjoying recording some of them in my dad’s studio. Over the past few years, I’ve written a bunch of songs, but the ones below are a few that I feel especially good about.”

Big Tooth + Paige Sandusky

Welcome to Seattle’s “Dad Pop” band, BIGTOOTH - part chorus, part campfire song, part skeleton key and part honey pot, dripping with melody. Electric-blue harmonies buoy big guitar chords and bright lightning bolt rhythms. No influence is out of bounds, no wave unworthy of the surf. It’s a blend of ingredients that harkens back to traditional styles and yet portends new positions of exclamation.

Paige is a vocalist and music educator in Seattle, WA. She is originally from New Jersey where she received her B.A. in Voice Performance from Montclair State University and is an alumni from The LaGuardia Performing Arts High School, "The Fame" School, in New York City. After college, she performed in New York City at renowned venues such as Cafe Wha? and The Groove. She also had the honor to perform on the same stage as countless iconic artists at The Apollo Theatre. After a decade of living in the concrete jungle, the mountains were calling her name. Paige moved to the Denver, CO area in 2014 where she was the lead vocalist for soul/r&b band BeatSpeak and played in various funk, soul, and r&b groups as well as keeping a full-time teaching studio for voice and piano. Grace Pettis & Zach Willdee

The Rabbit Box welcomes to Seattle, Grace Pettis & Zach Willdee ~ West Coast Tour 2025, gracing our stage on June 26th!

Doors 7pm / Music begins at 8pm

Grace has a melodic way of writing that not only stays in your head but reads what’s sitting in your soul. She writes what I’ve always wanted to say.”— Ruthie Foster (Grammy®-nominated blues artist) Grace Pettis’ much-anticipated sophomore MPress Records release, Down To The Letter, captures the Nashville-based (formerly Austin-based) singer-songwriter at the peak of her songwriting powers. Chronicling the end of a marriage and the reclamation of self after betrayal, codependency, and loss with heartbreaking detail, the lyrics deftly toe the line between personal pain and universal catharsis.

Outlaw Country singer Zach Willdee combines energetic performances with his raw talent to bear a voice bigger than his body and stories older than his boots. Growing up in Massachusetts, writing beneath the shade of the New England pines, Zach Willdee began his musical career busking on the street corners of Provincetown, Massachusetts at 14 years old. By age 16, he earned the name “The Barefoot Brother.” Lifeguarding on the Atlantic coast during the day and street performing at night he reflects, “They called me that because I didn’t wear any shoes when I performed on the tarmac. They thought it was the funniest thing that this barefoot lifeguard was playing music.” It wasn’t long before Willdee moved from playing on the tarmac to playing local bars, with lines of people wrapping around the block, waiting to get in.

Willdee says, “I write and perform my music to help myself mentally––as a form of therapy, you could say––and hope that I can help someone relate and know there’s someone else out there sharing their experience.”

It’s not uncommon to see members of the audience singing along to Willdee’s songs at his shows––and they haven’t even been released yet! The slow rollin’ rambler has been captivating audiences for over a decade and shows no signs of putting the breaks on now. Finally laying his fans’ favorites down, Willdee will release his debut singles, “Take the Sign'' (June 9), “Lately” (July 7), and “Shadow Riders” Fall of 2021, with his first album dropping later this fall. Listeners can look forward to tracks layered with the talents of musicians like Adam Duran of Kelsey Waldon’s band (electric and acoustic guitar), American Aquarium’s Neil Jones (pedal steel), Nashville local legend and country singer Tim Bolo (bass), Lucy Cochran (fiddle, backup vocals,) and Chris Weisbecker (drums, producer, and engineer) as well as his own. The multi-talented musician plays guitar, mandolin, bass, and harmonica as well. When he’s not playing the iconic American Legion Post 82 or Dee’s Country Lounge, you’ll find Willdee cooking, gardening, or exploring the great outdoors of Tennessee.
