Album Release Show! Rachael Sage & The Sequins have been creating wildly expressive, original alt-folk-pop for decades - and this is the 30th Anniversary year for Sage’s artist-owned label, MPress Records. After receiving her first “big break” as Ani DiFranco’s opening act in 1998, Sage proceeded to play Lilith Fair with her NYC-based band, beginning an international touring and recording career that’s taken her everywhere from Berlin to Japan. An accomplished pianist and multi-instrumentalist, Sage also plays guitar, percussion, produces and is a former dancer with The New York City Ballet as well as a visual artist. With an ongoing message of inclusivity, resilience and compassion, her songs straddle Americana/folk, pop, and even classical genres…supported by creative instrumentation including cello, violin and harmonica. A longtime activist on behalf of LGBTQ+ rights as well as homelessness, women’s health and eating disorders, Sage and her label MPress seamlessly combine the arts and activism with an underlying message of love and acceptance - needed now more than ever. Rachael Sage & The Sequins’ new acoustic album “Under My Canopy” will be available exclusively to concertgoers on this tour, ahead of its late fall wider release.
